Wilmington Symphony Orchestra's new education program: WSO's Classical Kids!

Not just a concert, "WSO's Classical Kids" is a new 10-week education program that includes a lesson plan for local educators to include in their curriculum leading up to the concert at the Wilson Center. Children will learn about Beethoven and his compositions with a simple lesson in music theory. Included in the lesson plan “packet” is a children’s book about the composer, information about the concert and pre-concert activities for families, and an education resource guide that includes assignments, recordings, and a discussion and activities for the educators to use.
In the Lobby before the Concert on April 3, 2022 at the Wilson Center CFCC
Not only will children receive a comprehensive education leading up to an interactive and fun concert at the Wilson Center, they will also participate in educational pre-concert activities! Before the concert, the WSO will host an Instrument Petting Zoo in the Wilson Center lobby for young children to become acquainted with the instruments in an orchestra and visit with other children's organizations from around the area. Families will have access to all that our nonprofit community has to offer.
