The first concert of the season featuring these two ensembles is the Fall Matinee on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in Kenan Auditorium.
The Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra will celebrate Fall by going out to the country with Beethoven. The first movement of his Pastoral Symphony, as the composer wrote in the score, is about “cheerful feelings upon arriving in the countryside.” Also on the program is film music from Batman, Dances with Wolves, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
The mission of the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Wilmington Symphony Junior Strings is to enrich the lives of Cape Fear area youth by providing talented young musicians with unique orchestral training and performing opportunities.
Bring the kids and introduce them to the joy and excitement of an orchestra concert featuring the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra, conducted by Steven Errante, along with the Wilmington Symphony Junior Strings, conducted by Jane Tierney.
General Admission tickets are $6 (plus tax) for adults, FREE for youth 17 and under, and are available at the Kenan Auditorium Ticket Office one hour prior to each concert.
