2009-2010 Season

An Invitation from the Conductor
We invite you to join us for a season
of masterpieces for orchestra.
I’ve programmed some familiar
favorites such as Grieg’s famous
Piano Concerto alongside what is for
me a new discovery – music of
Swedish composer Franz Berwald.
We’ll be continuing our Beethoven
Symphony Cycle with a performance
of Beethoven’s personal favorite –
the Seventh, and we’re presenting an
exciting world premiere. The season
features some fresh faces in the
solo line-up too, including three
UNCW faculty members:
Marina DeRatmiroff, soprano,
Christopher Johns, violoncello,
and Elizabeth Loparits, piano.
